Bugs in Analysis Screen

I have been using analysis screen and found some issues.

I have found that importing the files using excel has been unreliable. Names of spectra I wanted are ignored and compounds are not assigned to spectra. Worked around using Macros though. Maybe its my excel layout and I am missing something, but nothing is obvious.

Adjusting the X axis of some spectra to realign them compared to controls is messy. Doing so is fine, but visually it results in the peak markers being left behind. this is solved by re-opening the program.

Finally, I have had issues with opening files and saving files. It seems the CCPN is not finding the XML files. When saving files, it would inform me of a “permission error” and the folder may be in a read only file. Checks show it is not in a read only file. I would be able to open it again as long as I have the same file open but if I close the program it is lost. The CCPN file is missing the memops folder. I have no idea what starts it not being able to save. I did wonder if my use of the “delete” key does, but testing didnt seem to show it kill the file. However when making a new file from the start and avoiding using the delete key it survived and I got the data I needed. I seem to recall I found this was the fix when I had issues a while ago but didnt write it down.
I have kept files etc. so can try to get some info out if you need more to diagnose the issue.

I think I have finished using CCPN for this project, but hopefully these fixes can be done for future users.
Thanks

Thanks for pointing these things out.

On the Excel import: someone reported an issue a month or two ago and we put a bug fix on the update server. If you send us your Excel file (to support@ccpn.ac.uk), we can check what is going on and see if anything else needs fixing.

We’ll have a look a the alignment issue. What method were you using to adjust the spectra?

We’ve had one or two people reporting saving issues recently. Brian’s recent post summarises our advice pretty well:

Hi Vicky

I can send the excel file over.

I was using the option to calibrate X axis by right clicking on the spectra.

Yeah I saw that post about saving it on OneDrive. I am using the most up to date CCPN (just reinstalled it a week ago) and had it saved on Onedrive, but then tried to save stuff locally and got issues again. I did change a folder name on the first try when I initially accounted the issue, but the second and third attempt were saved locally.
