Ccpnmranalysis frozen after opening

When I load my project, CCPNM freezes a couple of seconds later and won’t unfreeze. I left it running for one hour with no change.
I can kill the process by closing the terminal, but then I cannot open my very important project anymore…

Is there any way to recover my project?

Hi,

What you can try is to open new CcpNmr window from other terminal and see if you can recover your project from backups?

Hi Yoan

If you get stuck trying to do something often doing control c in the terminal will give you a traceback to show what the program was doing when it hung

Secondly if its a reproducible hang try running with —debug3 and this will give a lot more output on whats happening

Then wrap up this information and send it to use and it may help us work out where the problem is…

the backup plan works!

So good

Well, FYI, let me describe what happened:

the bug appeared while the software was last open when the computer turned into standby mode. When I wake up the computer the day after, the project was buggy (no reaction while clicking on a peak for instance) so I saved the project, turn ccpnmr off.

Afterward, any attempt to open this project make ccpnmr freeze.

Good news about the backups!

What operating system are you using? We did at one point observe some issues with the program crashing with a threading error after sleep/wake-up on some of our Macs. I thought this had pretty much gone and then it happened to me the other day. But it’s hard to detect a pattern. But a crash is rather different to what you are describing.

I’m assuming you have the project stored on a local drive, do you?
