Hi,
I recently got a new Mac with M4 CPU. I downloaded the ccpnmr 3.2 version for the new apple CPU and it is working fine. However, when I start it I notice that in the terminal the following text appears:
You are using an Apple-Silicon processor (M-series).
Your version of CcpnmrAnalysis predates the download for version 3.2.2 and
will be an Intel distribution.
If you are experiencing issues you may not have Rosetta installed or
you should download an Apple-Silicon distribution.
I am a bit confused because I am 100% sure to have downloaded the version for the new Mac CPU. Is this simply a bug or do I have a problem?
thanks,
mark
Yes - sorry about this. I think it was part of Ed’s testing for the new distribution. Don’t worry about anything - unless things aren’t working as they should. But it sounds like everything is fine.

Hi Mark
Doe it run ok?
Also try
file /src/c/ccpnc/clibrary/Clibrary.so
What doe it report on my m series version it is
ccpnc/clibrary/Clibrary.so: Mach-O 64-bit bundle arm64
Which indicates an M series version
On an older intel version I get
ccpnc/clibrary/Clibrary.so: Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64

Dear Gary,
It is running fine, so there is no problem at all - at least for the moment, I have not tried all functionalities yet. I am just puzzled that I downloaded the version dedicated to Apple CPUs and yet I get an error message telling me to get the Apple CPU version…
Running the command you suggest gets me:
[meckiemesser:~/software/ccpnmr] markpfuhl% file src/c/ccpnc/clibrary/Clibrary.so
src/c/ccpnc/clibrary/Clibrary.so: Mach-O 64-bit bundle arm64
[meckiemesser:~/software/ccpnmr] markpfuhl%
Do you also get the reminder to get the M series version of CCPNMR when you run the M-series version of CCPNMR on your M series Mac? Maybe I am doing something wrong…
thanks,
mark
Hi Mark,
you’re not doing anything wrong. This is a completely spurious message and once Ed is back at work I shall ask him to remove it! Ed has been experimenting with a number of different ways of creating distributions - and I think the download that you are using may have been part of these experiments. The version Gary is using may be different and have a different message. Please simply ignore these messages.
Vicky
Hi Vicky,
Thank you very much for the clarification!
