After downloading the software and following the macOS instructions, I have seeing this error while trying to run bin/assign, this has happened on 2-3 computers in different locations with different users and we haven’t been successful running the software yet.
“libXdmcp.6.dylib” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the bin.
If the file is deleted then the pop up for the damaged file doesn’t appear but the software never loads due to missing files.
When checking the output in terminal I do see an error of “/lib/libzmq.5.dylib’ not valid for use in process: library load disallowed by system policy)” would this point to a security policy from the organisation blocking this?
We don’t have any issues with this on any of our M2/M3 Macs.
A few things to ensure:
You run
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine ccpnmr
in the directory where you have unpacked the ccpnmr directory. And obviously you need Administrator rights for the sudo element to work and the command to be successful.
Where are you trying to install the software? Are there permission issues with the location? Have you tried doing it in the normal user space rather than trying to install it for all users or something like that?
On Windows we see issues with anti-virus programs putting things in quarantine and then there are files missing. On Macs we’ve not seen this before and certainly MS Defender and Sophos have never caused us any problems. But perhaps you have a different anti-virus program which is being more aggressive in what it does/doesn’t allow?
When I run the command in step one I get the following error:
xattr: No such file: ccpnmr/miniconda/lib/plugin/libfido2.1.dylib
The folder is just extracted and sitting in my user/downloads folder at the moment, I am admin on the computer and have also tried doing the same in a local admin account but the same errors pop up.
We use Cortex XDR here as our threat detection, it’s not something I would have the ability to turn off.
I have seen problems running programs from downloads, I would try re down loading the zip file, move it to your home folder and try unzipping it there or in a subfolder. Before doin this I would a. Disable any antivirus b. If the problems remains make sure the folder is not being backed up to iCloud then run the xattr script
