I am just cleaning up some data and I have realised that there seems to be a limit on spinning frequency in General properties. It seems that you cannot set anything larger than 100 kHz and if you type, e.g. 150 kHz the spinning frequency reverts to 15 kHz. It is not a big deal but it is a useful feature for record keeping.
I am using Analysis 3.3.4.1 on a Mac.
Current spinning frequencies achievable in the wild are ~250 kHz (not a typical condition but this gets normalised and extended at quite a quick pace).
I had no idea there was a limit to the spinning frequency. Fortunately, it turns out this was just a limit on the GUI, so easily fixed. I’ve now set it to 500 kHz - or should I be more ambitious and go for 1GHz? (Would that be mechanically possible?!?) I’ll ask @ejb to put it on the update server when he gets a moment.
Thanks, Vicky. 500 kHz sounds good. It sounds quite ambitious but if you asked me 10 years ago, I would have not believed that we will ever break the 200 kHz barrier but here we are. There are some clever and passionate about spinning people out there…
