NMR Dynamics Workshop in Leicester 6-7 June 2023

Dear All,

Fred Muskett and the CCPN team will be running an in person workshop in Leicester on 6-7 June 2023 covering both the theoretical and practical aspects of NMR Dynamics measurements and data analysis. This workshop is intended mainly for UK-based researchers who will be able to get funding to attend the workshop via Connect NMR UK.

For details and registration see go to NMR Dynamics Workshop - CCPN.

Workshop Details:

Learning outcomes
At the completion of this workshop, the student:
• will understand the theory, and have practical experience in acquiring NMR relaxation experiments.
• will be able to process and analyse the NMR relaxation experiments.
• understands the steps and outcomes of dynamics analysis.
• can use CcpNmr AnalysisAssign for the various data analysis steps.

Programme
Tuesday 6th June, 1 pm – 5:30 pm
Lecture – Practical aspects of collecting NMR relaxation data
Practical – Instrument set-up and data acquisition
Lecture – Theory of NMR dynamics
End of formal day ~5:30 pm

Wednesday 7th June, 9 am – 1 pm
Workshop – Data processing:
• Topspin (brief)
• NMRPipe (extensive)
Workshop – CcpNmr Analysis Dynamics Module:
• Loading data and assignment transfer
• Extracting R1, R2 and heteronuclear-NOE relaxation parameters Analysis using reduced spectral density mapping
• Tools to review NMR relaxation data
End of formal day ~1 pm

Participant Profile
The course is aimed at 1st/2nd year PhD students or equivalent, who plan to use NMR spectroscopy to study biological systems, or post-doctoral researchers wishing to expand their skills/knowledge of structural biology. We envisage that those attending should have a basic knowledge of NMR spectroscopy and should be able to set up, acquire and process a 1H-15N-HSQC independently.

Registration and Funding
Please use the registration form below to apply to take part in the workshop. Due to the hands-on nature of the course, places are limited to eight.
This workshop is aimed primarily at UK-based applicants who are therefore eligible to apply for a Connect NMR UK Training Mobility Grant to help pay for their travel and accommodation.
